ARABIC DISH

HAREES

Harees,an Arabic dish, made from wheat and is very healthy and rich in nutrition. It is also an energy booster. It is mostly consumed in Middle Eastern regions and especially during fasting in Ramadan, as it helps to balance out the nutrients and provide energy while fasting.

Soak 1/2 kg Wheat overnight. The next morning, they will be soft like sponge.Add around 1.5 kg more water to the soaked wheat(donot drain the water in which they were soaked).Cook on low flame for 2 hours, checking in between that the size has changed.

Pressure cook 1kg boneless mutton so that it is very tender and soft to the touch.

Add the boiled mutton and salt to the wheat mixture and cook for further 2 more hours on low flame.By the end of 2 hrs,it should be well combined and the wheat shall look like tiny small balls and the mixture shall be a bit thick(not very thick).
Using a hand blender, blend the mixture so that no mutton can be seen but some of the wheat balls are shown or blend till ur desired consistency.

Give the final touch by adding Ghee (clarified butter)on top according to your suitability and its ready to be served. Enjoy the meals and if you like it , do share www.yahoolifestyle.blogspot.com with your family and friends.
